When going to the seaside with a child. What to take with you?

01.07.2024

Traveling with small children does not always go smoothly. To take care of your baby's health, you need to anticipate various situations and properly assemble a travel kit. What is definitely worth taking with you, going on a summer vacation with your family?
Basic travel preparation:
A child's first aid kit takes up a lot of space in your luggage, but your child's health comes first. Transportation may break down on the way, there may not be a pharmacy in the vacation spot, and sometimes a bad feeling of well-being catches you unawares in the middle of the night.
Buying medicines in another country can be problematic, as many drugs have different trade names, stricter rules of dispensing and cost more. Bring medicines bought in advance in their original packaging and bring a prescription to avoid problems at customs.
Study the epidemiological situation in the resort. Depending on the country visited and the type of vacation, vaccination may be necessary.

What to take to the sea?

1. Sunscreen. When choosing a product, focus on your phototype, skin type and climate. For skin of phototype 1, 2 and 3, the minimum safe time to be in direct sunlight is 5, 10 and 20 minutes respectively. SPF shows how many times the cream extends this time. That is, a cream with SPF15 will increase this period of time in 15 times, and with SPF50 - in 50 times.
Give preference to products with zinc oxide in the composition, as they are hypoallergenic, not absorbed and fully protect against rays type A and B.

2. After-sun products. If contains panthenol, it will heal the skin, normalize cellular metabolism, reduce inflammation. It will help in the prevention of dryness, treatment of burns and care for infants (prevents diaper rash and diaper dermatitis).

3. Anti-fever medication. Allowed for children of 3 months and older.

4. Anti-allergy medications.

5. To treat the intestines. When poisoning, treatment should be complex. The optimal set is a sorbent, a drug with nifuroxazid and rehydratant in the presence of vomiting or diarrhea. In case of fever, a doctor's examination is necessary. Babies can benefit from colic drops.

6. Remedies for motion sickness: pills or special patches.

7. Antiseptics. They may be needed not only for treating wounds, but also for pharyngitis, stomatitis and other inflammatory diseases.

8. Dressing materials: bandages or sterile wipes, plasters, cotton disks and sticks.

9. Protective cream or bug spray.

10. Earplugs for bathing or ear drops for wax plugs or inflammation.

11. Cold remedies.

12. Thermometer. It is better to take an infrared model so that transportation is safe and temperature measurement is quick and easy.
